1. AUTHORIZATION OF THE CHURCH

Dear friend of revival,

Jesus has authorized you to represent Him here in the world before people and the powers of darkness. In the new birth He came to live in your heart. As a new creature you have now the ability, equipment, authorization and task to cooperate with Jesus. You are called to rule with Him and according to His will. Jesus has authorized you to act in His Name and to bring forth His reign on the earth. Receive a greater revelation and faith about your ministry as His ambassador!

Luke 10:18-19: And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.

The limited presence of the enemy in this world is closing, because soon Jesus will return as the King of Glory. The wave of revival that will precede His second coming is already descending upon the nations. Jesus will lead His church to a new holiness, glory and authority. The Bride will be clothed in the wedding dress which has no stain or wrinkle.

A great harvest is waiting for the church. You will be a member of the harvesting church. The work will be great and difficult and you will need power for that. You are authorized to receive the full promise of the Father. The power of the Holy Spirit will come upon you and equip you with fresh anointing. In the name of Jesus you will call people into repentance, heal the sick, cast out evil spirits and bring blessings of God into people's life. This is the way how you will reign with Jesus and exercise His authority over the darkness.

Mark 16:17-18: And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Jesus released His authorization, calling and assignment to His disciples by commanding them to operate in His Name. However we have to make a distinction between the disciples and those who follow Jesus occasionally. To the status of a disciple belongs the firm commitment to follow Jesus, to receive His teaching, to receive His character and to do His works. This kind of devotion will cover the whole life. First your devotion will be visible to God when you persistently prepare yourself for the calling and ministry that Jesus has for you. Later on your calling will become visible for the people through the anointing that Jesus has imparted in you.

Jesus came to dwell in your heart through the Holy Spirit when you received Him as your personal Savior and surrendered yourself unto Him. From that moment on Jesus began to build you up in order to make you a disciple who will follow Him in His character and deeds. The anointing will make you a fellow worker with Him! Jesus and you make a supernatural team! Jesus is your power in the Spirit and you are His power in the natural body. He is the Head and you are a member of His living and mighty body. Through love and obedience you can present your natural abilities and resources to serve His plans and his purposes. Through the anointing of the Holy Spirit Jesus will manifest Himself in your life - and with a powerful manner!

2. THE HIDDEN AND REVEALED NAME OF GOD

God revealed His plans and character in many ways beginning from Ancestors of the Old Covenant. He revealed Himself to the tribe of Israel through Moses in the pillar of cloud and fire. He manifested Himself as God who wants to dwell among His people. Finally He revealed Himself perfectly through His only begotten Son, whom He sent to us in the form of human being. Jesus is the final, perfect and full revelation of God. Every human being can understand Him and receive Him as one's Savior, because Jesus became our likeness in human form. Jesus is the fullest image of God that is given to us. Therefore we need to concentrate our attention to the teachings of the New Testament. The old has gone and the new has come instead. When we know Jesus, we will know the Father.

Heb 1:1-4: God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners, hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds; who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.

The word 'name' is in original Hebrew language 'shem', which means 'name', 'reputation', 'glory', 'memorial', 'character'. In the New Testament the word 'name' comes from the Greek word 'onoma', which means 'name', 'authority', 'character', 'personality'. Therefore we understand that in both the Old and New Testament the word 'name' has practically the same meaning. The name is a personal identification but it means also everything that the person is altogether and from what he is known.

God's name means everything that we as human beings are able to understand, know, feel, receive or own from Him. In God there is a dimension that remains unknown for human beings. Therefore He makes a distinction between His name and His personality. The name of God is the dimension of God that is revealed to His creation.

God said to Moses that His name is "I AM". The expression "I am" becomes from the Hebrew word 'hayah', which means 'to be', 'to become', 'to happen', 'to exist', 'to manifest', 'to be revealed', 'remain', 'be finished', 'be fulfilled'.

By His expression "I AM" God reserves the right to reveal Himself as He chooses. He can not reveal to Moses a name that would be humanly conceivable, because it would limit His supernatural person.

In the Hebrew texts the name of God is written YHVH, which comes from for Hebrew letters 'yud-heh-vav-heh'. These mean simply 'four letter name of God'. From these letters there are different variations like Jahveh or Jehovah in different translations. The names Jahveh or Jehovah do not give any new revelation about the meaning of God's name. The name of God is and will be incomprehensible to a natural mind. We will be able to understand about God only that He reveals to us. The understanding and knowledge of God becomes from reading the scriptures that contain revelation from God. In addition to the Word of God there will be a revelation of the Holy Spirit which gives a personal knowledge of God to His children.

God revealed Himself in His Son Jesus in such a way that human beings can fully understand and receive! God commanded Mary to give her son the name YESHUA, which means 'YHVH saves', which can be also said 'God saves'. This is the same God who revealed Himself to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and to prophets through the ages.

In the name 'YHVH saves' there remains the secret character of God although we can utter it in natural language. This must be so because in Jesus there is also the secret character of God which will be revealed only in heaven and after the resurrection.

Rom 16:25-27: Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal, but now is manifested, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known unto all the nations unto obedience of faith: to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory for ever. Amen.

Because the texts of the New Covenant are written in Greek, the original Name of Jesus - Yeshua - was changed to 'Iisous'. From this Greek word the name of Yeshua has been translated in different variations. The Messianic Jews speak about the Messiah (in Hebrew ha-maschiah = the Anointed One) rather than Christ (in Greek kristos = anointed).

In Antioch the gentiles first began to call the believers of Jesus by the name 'kristianos'. This Greek word has two parts 'krist-ianos'. The first part means Christ and the latter part 'follower like a slave'. The unbelievers gave this name and it had a defamatory meaning. However, Paul proclaims that he considers as his honour to be a bond slave of Jesus! When I call myself a Christian, do I proclaim to be a follower of Jesus as a bond slave? If we believers only would be like our name really means, then the Glory of Jesus would certainly manifest through us - convicting the unbelievers about His reign!

Because of the linguistic difference the Hebrew followers of Yeshua can not call themselves Christians, but instead believers of Yeshua. The Messianic Jews and born again Christians believe in the same way in Jesus as the Anointed One and the Saviour of the mankind. Both are part of the same universal body of Christ.

Should we now start calling Jesus according to His original Hebrew name, or are we allowed to use the variation of His name which we are using in our own language? We answer to this question as follows:

The name that we understand by our natural mind will direct our thoughts towards the supernatural person of Jesus, whom we can get to know only by the revelation of the Holy Spirit. The natural knowledge about His natural name does not lead to inner revelation about Him. This can happen only by the new birth in the Holy Spirit. Jesus allows different nations to call Himself with different natural names, like nick names, but He will reveal Himself to His own through the inner revelation of the Holy Spirit. In this way the believer gets to know some of His supernatural name and character. As new creatures we receive also a relation with our Heavenly Father through Jesus. But we do not only know Jesus but we are UNITED WITH HIM! We are connected to His heavenly life and blessings. Praise the Lord!

John 14:21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him.

3. IN THE NAME OF JESUS

As a disciple of Jesus you have the real-time experience and revelation of Jesus. Your spirit is directed to the supernatural realm of Jesus and you trust in Him. You reach out the arm of faith to receive blessings from Heaven for you or your neighbours. In assurance of faith you look at the Heavenlies and consider the spiritual things to be higher than the natural things. You are called to live by faith in the reality of God's throne and to look the problems of your life from that point of view.

When you are awake and active in your faith, the Holy Spirit is able to inspire you to act according the will of Jesus in your everyday life. In the anointing of the Holy Spirit you are able to act in the Name of Jesus. Through Jesus you are called to take this position. He is always delighted and will work with you when you act boldly, in spite of your weaknesses! Your authorization comes from the perfect Salvation of Jesus. It will never be in your own capacity. Listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His advice! Act according to His Word and the signs will follow. Glory to God!

The Holy Spirit leads you to speak and act according to the will of Jesus in any situation. God has a solution and a way forward through any obstacle or problem. In the condition of obedience and faith Jesus will rule in you. You are united with Him and made perfect through His blood, although you remain incomplete as a natural being. Jesus is the High Priest before the throne of God in Heaven and He will see that your imperfect petitions are covered by His blood and forwarded as perfect and favourable before the Father. Praise the Lord!

You should not use the Name of Jesus as an empty phrase or like a 'mantra' that would do something automatically. You are an ambassador of Jesus and the evidence of your authorization is in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Look at yourself through the salvation of Jesus while you see Jesus as the King of Glory at the throne of the Father. By the revelation of the Holy Spirit you will have the direction to act. By faith you will stand up before the Throne of God. Jesus allows you to operate with Him from that position. Glory to God! When you see yourself like this and you say 'IN THE NAME OF JESUS', you will know that He will confirm His Words through the signs following. You will be fully assured about His authorization and results of your ministry!

1 John 5:13-15: These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

4. SPECIFIC COMMENTS

Powers of darkness aim to seduce people to seek after secret knowledge or name that would give them a supernatural power. Of course there is no such thing with God. The seeking of secret things leads people to the bondage of devil and into connections with the demons of darkness.

God has no secret information that would benefit people. Instead of secret knowledge He has proclaimed openly the salvation work of Jesus and everyone is allowed to receive fully the benefits of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus.

God's power comes from the relationship and unity with Him. The supernatural power of God always will be His alone, but He will co-operate with His children by anointing them with the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore uttering the name of Jesus in order to do miracles does not work for unbelievers. But instead the unbelievers are commanded to repent and call upon the Name of Jesus for their salvation and then Jesus will answer.

Matt 7:21-27: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and if fell not: for it was founded upon the rock. And every one that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and smote upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall thereof.

Jesus speaks here about the people, which He doesn't know. They do not belong to Him, because Jesus says that He knows His sheep. In the world there are a lot of people, who want supernatural powers or abilities, but they don't want to surrender their life unto Jesus. When they are trying to get contact with the supernatural powers they get into contact with deceiving demons of darkness. Jesus does not acknowledge the deeds that these people are boasting about. These people bring up their own deeds as a merit for salvation before the throne of God. Their actions prove that they are totally blind and arrogant because they dare to boast like this even before Jesus in His Glory. They simply have no understanding about the salvation through the blood of Jesus and have not surrendered unto Him at all.

Jesus will give His Holy Spirit only for those who obey Him. Disobedience is a sin of witchcraft. Simon the Sorcerer (Acts 8) was an example about this kind of people. He did not surrender his heart to Jesus although he showed outward signs of a believer. He did not build on the rock, because he did not allow Jesus to come into his heart and make him a new creature.

As believers we should not use these words (Matt 7:22-27) against any believer. Jesus absolutely knows every born again person and every believer has the promise of the Holy Spirit to receive the anointing in order to operate in the Name of Jesus. If someone is operating differently than you are used to, do not criticize him. Recognise your own anointing and your 'province which God has appointed' to you. Be faithful in your own ministry and then you will have the crown of glory kept for you in Heaven.

2 Cor 10:13: But we will not glory beyond our measure, but according to the measure of the province which God apportioned to us as a measure, to reach even unto you.

Acts 19:11-16: And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: insomuch that unto the sick were carried away from his body handkerchiefs or aprons, and the evil spirits went out. But certain also of the strolling Jews, exorcists, took upon them to name over them that had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, who did this. And the evil spirit answered and said unto them, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and mastered both of them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Why didn't the evil spirit acknowledge the Name of Jesus in the mouth of the sons of Sceva? The answer is simple. Jesus said: "Without Me you can't do anything!" The sons of Sceva did not have any relationship with Jesus. They tried to deliver the demon possessed man in their own power. Jesus was not with them and they did not have the Holy Spirit.

The demons will acknowledge only the presence of Jesus in His anointed followers. They know exactly when a person has repented and renounced them. When you have cast out demons from your life by the power of the Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus, they know you are God's own and thus their enemy. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit demons will see Jesus in you and they have to obey your commands everywhere. The demons are spirits of darkness and they can't stand the light and the Glory of Jesus. They have to flee when you command them in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Glory to God!

Jesus has called you to deliver people from the slavery of the evil spirits. Whenever you will face a person who is oppressed by the evil spirit, you will need just to ask advice from the Holy Spirit and act according to that. In the name of Jesus YOU HAVE PERMANENT AUTHORIZATION AND POWER TO DELIVER PEOPLE FROM THE BONDAGES OF DEMONS, whenever they want to become free.

5. ANOINTING AND PERSECUTION

Every believer must be ready to act in the Name of Jesus. We want to see the great works of God to be manifested. But the true anointing in great power will lead also to hatred and persecution, which will come from the worldly and religious people. Are you ready to face persecution because of the Name of Jesus? When you strengthen your heart to withstand persecution, Jesus will pour out a new and strong anointing upon you!

Matt 10:16-22: Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in theirs synagogues they will scourge you; yea and before governors and kings shall ye be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you. And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

Jesus will protect you and there will not happen anything evil to you without His knowing your situation. As the ambassador of the Gospel of Jesus Christ your ministry will be extremely blessed and glorious. The angels will carry you in the triumph. The primary question is about the freedom of your heart to operate with the Lord in the midst of difficulties. The spirit of this world must be destroyed in your heart in such a way that any other authority, temptation or circumstances do not distract you from your mission with Jesus. Be strong in your heart against the devil and the spirit of this world. Be subject unto God and resist the devil, and he will flee from you!

God has enough power and passion to equip His church! The limiting factor will be the strength and capacity of your own vessel. If there is some attraction of worldly comfort and lusts, Jesus will see it and He can not pour out the full anointing. This is because the choice of surrendering your life unto Jesus is simply yours. If you would not be ready to kill your flesh because of Jesus, the demons of death may be able to stop your ministry by some evil tricks. If the fear of men and desire of honour from people rule your life in some areas, God can not release the full Glory of His anointing upon your life.

By the mercy and grace of God the Glory of the Holy Spirit will lift you up from the temptations of this world. Renounce from all bondages of this world that would hinder you from reaching your full measure of faith, anointing and calling!

The secret of receiving the fire of revival and power of God is THE UNCOMPROMISING CONFESSION AND SURRENDER UNTO JESUS. Purification in the fire of God makes you a vessel for a noble ministry. You will get a position where no temptation is able to seduce you from the glory of the anointing. The enemy will have no hook in you to catch you. The demons will only see Jesus and His authority in your life. The devil will flee from you with all of his evil spirits. Jesus establishes your heart in this way with Him and He will trust you a great ministry.

John 15:20-21: Remember the word that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

As long as the church is in the condition of infirmity, there will be only little persecution. But as soon as the servants of God will start to heal the sick and raise the dead, the persecution will begin. The spirits of the devil do not tolerate the manifestation of the power of God, because they know that then even the sceptics will repent and believe in Jesus. The fire of the Holy Spirit will burn the demons and they have to flee. You are called to ignite and carry this kind of awesome Fire of God! You are called to destroy the powers of darkness and call people into salvation in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Matt 5:11-12: Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

1 Pet 4:12-16: Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, which cometh upon you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened unto you: but insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy. IF YE ARE REPROACHED FOR THE NAME OF CHRIST, BLESSED ARE YE ; BECAUSE THE SPIRIT OF GLORY AND THE SPIRIT OF GOD RESTETH UPON YOU. For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other men's matters: but if a man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

Jesus equips you for a great task. Your task will be supernatural and your working environment will be extensive and complex. But you will succeed in your ministry with Jesus. In the fire of revival there is a power, which is able to equip you for everything what is needed. Your new creature is a competent fellow worker of Jesus because of the heavenly new birth. The inner revelation and wisdom will manifest in your life. Jesus will be your power always and everywhere. You will have the capacity to operate powerfully IN THE NAME OF JESUS.

The love of God is filling you and therefore you will win the temptations of this world. Jesus will make you willing to sacrifice yourself for the benefit of others. Therefore you will have strength to operate in the power of the Holy Spirit in spite of any resistance. You will get your reward from above. The natural man will make way for the spirit man, which will lead your life.

The Glory of Heaven is shining into your heart and the lights of this world will get dim and fade out. Jesus will come, the Bride will rise up in the Glory and Might. Be strengthened, stand up and let the Spirit of the Glory rest upon you! Glory to God!

With love in Jesus Christ
Seppo
